Bridget Boamah Appiah wins the 2021 Tertiary Category of the Young Scientist Challenge

Congratulations to Miss Bridget Boamah Appiah, a fifth year Doctor of Optometry student and president of the KNUST Students’ chapter of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (SVOSH) on being awarded winner of the Tertiary Category of the Young Scientist Challenge 2021.

The Young Scientist Challenge is an annual essay competition organized by the Ghana Science Association open to all Ghanaian students below age 25. The theme for the 2021 edition was “The Role of Science in Everyday Life”.

Bridget was awarded a certificate of merit, a cash prize as well as a copy of the latest Everyday Science for Schools Magazine at the 18th biennial workshop of the Ghana Science Association which was held at Koforidua Technical University in the Eastern region of Ghana on 12th October, 2022.

Bridget aspires to become a clinical researcher and a philanthropist and believes this award is a stepping stone to propel her to even greater heights.
