VOSH/International Donates State-of-the-Art Equipment to KNUST's Optometry Department

The Department of Optometry and Visual Science at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has received a generous donation from Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity (VOSH/International). The donation includes Keeler Classic PSL portable slit lamp, Welch-Allyn ophthalmoscopes and retinoscopes, Luxvision portable lensometer, and other valuable instruments, as well as an assortment of stylish frames, high-quality sunglasses, and disposable contact lenses.

 

DONATIONS

 

VOSH/International is the largest non-profit organization of volunteer optometrists, with 103 chapters worldwide. The organization's mission to provide the gift of vision and eye health to people worldwide is commendable, and their donation to the Department of Optometry and Visual Science at KNUST is an excellent example of their commitment to their mission. Through its students’ chapter (SVOSH-KNUST chapter), KNUST is able to receive support and equipment donations from VOSH/International.

 

The Department aims to educate optometrists to the highest level of proficiency, integrity, and professionalism, enabling graduates to practice at the cutting edge of the rapidly developing field of optometry. Dr. Kwadwo Owusu Akuffo, the Head of the Department, expressed his gratitude for the donation, stating that it will significantly impact the department's ability to provide top-notch education to its students.

This donation will help to achieve the department's goal of providing quality education to students and ensuring that they are well-equipped to meet the eye care needs of their communities. With the new equipment, the department can continue to provide high-quality eye care services and educate the next generation of optometrists to serve their communities with excellence.
