The Graduate Vision Science programme provides graduates with advanced knowledge, skills and aptitude in vision science in order to prepare them for careers in teaching, industry, and research.
The programme is designed to:
- Train researchers in the latest and most effective approaches for solving vision science problems.
- Train educators for professional programmes that train eye care providers.
- Produce scientists for the conduct of vision science research in industry, security services, and other professional settings.
- Train the next crop of researchers in vision science to serve the needs of Ghana, the sub-region and the global scientific community.
Master of Philosophy (MPhil.) Degree Programme in Vision Science
Entry Requirements
Applicants with a minimum of second-class lower degree from a recognized university in the following areas:
- BSc Vision Science
- Doctor of Optometry, Postgraduate Diploma in Optometry
- Postgraduate Diploma in Ophthalmology
- BSc Biology
- BSc Human Biology
- BSc Biochemistry
- BSc Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy
- BSc Physics
In addition, candidates must pass an interview.
Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) Degree Programme in Vision Science
Entry Requirements
Students applying for admission to PhD Vision Science should have a minimum of MSc or MPhil degree from a recognized University in the under listed fields:
- Optometry/ Vision Science
- Human Biology/Medicine
- Neuroscience
- Ophthalmology
- Pharmaceutical Sciences

- Molecular Biology
